Lil Wayne, Usher Help Romeo Santos 'Revolutionize' Bachata Music
'It was the first time you hear an artist from the mainstream singing bachata,' former Aventura frontman tells MTV News of single 'Promise.'

<P><a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/romeo_santos/artist.jhtml">Romeo Santos</a>, the former lead singer of the popular bachata group <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/aventura/artist.jhtml">Aventura</a>, has taken a new step in his career, venturing out on his own as a solo artist. Mixing his signature bachata flair with some R&B, he is showing fans a whole new side on his debut album, <i>Formula, Vol. 1.</i> </p><div class="player-placeholder right" id="vid:734074" width="240" height="211"></div><p> Hoping to spread his unique sound and style to a mainstream audience, Santos enlisted <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/lil_wayne/artist.jhtml">Lil Wayne</a> for his latest single, "All Aboard." "This song 'All Aboard,' that tune allowed me to expand and kind of offer my audience something totally different because it's not bachata — I'm singing English and that was really fun," Santos recently told MTV News. "I was a little nervous about that, but people actually really accepted it." Santos and Weezy recently shot the video for "All Aboard" in Miami; he called the clip "sexy," "seductive" and "elegant," but also revealed that this collaboration came very close to not making his album. "I was just like, I like the song but it's missing something, and at first I couldn't figure out what it was," Santos said. "What we did was we left 16 bars open, and I was like, you know, who would rip this track? Lil Wayne. So we reached out. It barely made the album because he's a busy dude, so he actually got on the record two months after we submitted it. It was like, if we don't get his vocals in the next two days we hit, and we got it, so we made it and the song is just really great." Wayne isn't the only artist Santos pulled in for his album. On his last single, "Promise," he teamed up with <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/usher/artist.jhtml">Usher</a>, who last week joined him onstage at <a href="/news/articles/1678993/romeo-santos-solo-tour.jhtml">Santos' first of three sold-out shows</a> at New York's Madison Square Garden. "I felt at that moment once again I was going to revolutionize bachata 'cause it was the first time that you hear an artist from the mainstream singing bachata," Santos said. Vanessa Bryant publically announced that she was filing for divorce from her Lakers player husband, Kobe Bryant, after 10 years of marriage back in December. Now, however, after a very public kiss on Valentine's Day, they could possibly be reconciling.
The two were married in April 2001 and even underwent a re-comittment ceremony in 2005. Vanessa cited "irreconciable differences" as the reason for divorce when she filed, but it's no secret that Kobe allegedly committed adultery numerous times throughout their relationship, and a source told TMZ, "The latest affair was the straw that broke the camel's back." Arianne Cohen, author of The Sex Diaries Project: What We're Saying About What We're Doing (sexdiariesproject.com), tells In Touch, "After Kobe's inital indescretion ten years ago, Vanessa chose to take him back and work on their marriage."
There is not one way to deal with a breakup and many couples change their minds. "Since then they both have clearly agreed on at least one thing: keeping their marriage private. As far as their recent smooch goes, she adds, "Few seperations are clean and straightforward, especially after ten years and two daughters. I say kudos to her for keeping a potentially very messy, public situation amicable."

Miley Cyrus Lashes Out Against Death Threats, Mean Tweets
Miley Cyrus had a great time last night, celebrating the Oscars with boyfriend Liam Hemsworth at two locations: Elton John's annual viewing party and then the subsequent Vanity Fair bash.
But the singer/actress had anything but a great time prior to hitting Hollywood, Tweeting up a storm in response to a few seriously hateful individuals.
"U have nothing better 2 do than hate?" Miley wrote in response to remarks (since deleted) that she "dresses like white trash" and is "so f-cking hideous," adding: "That saddens me. Im surrounded by love Im sorry 4 whatever happened 2 make u so bitter."
Moreover, the barbs went far beyond commentary on Miley's fashion sense (which has her beating out Kim Kardashian at the moment anyway. Take that, haters!)
"I wont tolerate someone telling me 2 die," Cyrus Tweeted, taking both the morons who made such threats and the social network itself to task: "Twitter needs to take some responsibility and make it a safe environment."

'Bridesmaids' Cast Talk 'Wieners,' Play Drinking Game At Oscars

There were several LOL moments during the 2012 Academy Awards, and one of those moments came courtesy of the funny women from "Bridesmaids." The six stars of the box-office smash took the stage on Sunday night (February 26) to hand out a bunch of awards. They not only passed out Oscar gold, they also dished out some good-natured, albeit somewhat NSFW, laughs.
Maya Rudolph and Kristen Wiig were first at bat to present Short Film (Live Action) to "The Shore."
"Six beautiful, some say handsome, women were invited by the Academy not only to present three awards, but also to shatter the common belief that size does not matter," Wiig joked. "Ah, I hate to tell you guys this, but it kind of does," she further teased, likening the length of a movie to that of a certain part of a male's anatomy.
"Yes, but not length," Rudolph added. "As my grandma used to say, 'It can be short and still make your toes curl.' And I believe in my heart my grandma wasn't referring to wieners but short films."
The joke continued, with Wiig adding, "See, I'd rather have a short film with some heft that's nice to me rather than a long film that lies there and makes you do all the work."
"But sometimes a film can be too long," Rudolf said, while Wiig, holding back laughter, added, "Not for me, not for me."
With Rudolf and Wiig's joke about "wieners" over, Rose Byrne and Oscar nominee Melissa McCarthy picked up where they left off at the SAG Awards, playing their Scorsese drinking game. "Documentaries shine spotlight on the world around us," Byrne said.
"And in the case of the best documentary short subject, that line shines for only a short period of time, much like a moonbeam or shooting star or a flicker of a candle," McCarthy added during their poetic introduction, before someone shouted "Scorsese" and the ladies swilled liquor and handed the Documentary Short Subject award to "Saving Face."
The fun didn't end there. Ellie Kemper and Wendi McLendon-Covey topped off the comical interlude. "And last but not least, we've come to Best Animated Short film," McLendon-Covey said. "In 1988, this award was presented to the great John Lasseter, who has since gone on to change the world of animation when he helped create Pixar." Kemper then joked, "Yes, so technically every nominee in this category has been given the opportunity to live up to those standards, but no pressure, of course."
That pressure was handed off to "The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore" when it took home the 2012 Oscar.
